4 1/8 x 5 - 5 3/8 x 5 3/8 in. (4.2 kg total, 10.5 x 12.8 - 13.5 x 13.5 cm).
Comprising various designs in differently coloured glazes, including animals, still life, figural scenes, floral and vegetal motifs, sailing vessels and architectural subject matter. [18]

Jews harps or Jews trumps have been around for many centuries, with a wide geographical distribution, forming an important element of traditional music (Leahy and Lewis 2018: 198). -
Maritime Brass Locking Night Watchman Timepiece

A Burk's Fabrikat Amerikaner circular drum-shaped timepiece with the paper recording disc present internally, with stamp inset with key post, spring fingers and detector spring; without keys. 855 grams total, 11.5 cm wide
Acquired Stacey's Auctions, Rayleigh, Essex, UK. Property of a Essex gentleman.
Each waypoint of the night watchman's round had a key hung there with a different number; as the watchman reached that location on the ship he would insert the key and turn it and that would make a time and location stamp on the paper disk showing exactly what time he had checked that site. The clock cases were locked so the instrument could not be tampered with while in use. -
Large Post Medieval Glazed Piriform Vessel

With integral handle, incised '3/2 / LB' over two lines to one face. 4 kg, 40 cm high

In the Oxford post medieval levels, of the later material, the most interesting piece was a large fragment of stoneware flagon, substantially identical to our specimen, inscribed 'R, Gurden Roe Buck Oxford'. Trade directories of the mid-19th century show that a Richard Curden was proprietor of the Roebuck family and commercial hotel and posting house in Cornmarket Street.
