POST MEDIEVAL BRONZE STRIDING BULL FIGURINE
ITALIAN OR FLEMISH, EARLY 17TH CENTURY AD
5" (941 grams, 12 cm including base.).

A cast advancing bull with head tilted and tail lifted, one foreleg raised, after a work by Giambologna; mounted on a socle display base.

PROVENANCE:
Ex Herman Historica, Germany.

FOOTNOTES:
Giambologna was the nickname of Jean Boulogne (1529 - 13 August 1608). He was a sculptor, known for his marble and bronze statuary in a late Renaissance style.
