Piriform in profile with decoration in two panels: mounted polo player on galloping horse raising his mallet above his head; hares running through vegetation. [No Reserve]

The Swiss archaeologist Karl Weber discovered the original bronze bust around 1750 during his excavations in the Villa dei Papiri, near Herculaneum in the Gulf of Naples. -
