Palmyrene, Palmyra AE 14mm. 2nd-3rd centuries AD. Pseudo-autonomous issue.
Male figure seated to left on lion to right; ΠΑΛΜ before / Nike advancing to left, holding palm and setting wreath on baetyl. Cf. Du Buisson, Planche XCIV, 2; Krzyzanowska -. Very Fine. Exceedingly rare.(1,50gr, 14mm, 3h.).

The Hemhem crown was an ornate triple Atef with corkscrew sheep horns and usually two uraeus. The Egyptian word Hemhem means to shout, cry out, possibly indicating that the Hemhem crown represented a battle horn. -
