EGYPTIAN PAINTED PLASTER FEMALE MUMMY PORTRAIT MASK
ROMANO-EGYPTIAN PERIOD, 30 BC-323 AD
7 1/2" (577 grams, 19 cm).

A cast ceramic mask with finely modelled facial features, black pigment to the brow, pupils, eyes and hair; ochre pigment for the skin and crimson for the lips; hollow to the reverse.

PROVENANCE:
Property of a lady; acquired in the late 1970s on the London art market.
