EGYPTIAN PAINTED CARTONNAGE SECTION WITH ISIS
PTOLEMAIC PERIOD, 332-30 BC
24 1/2 x 23 1/2" (2.9 kg, 62 x 60cm).

A large cartonnage panel section, D-shaped with contoured edges, painted with profile image of the goddess Isis, kneeling with arms and wings spread, attendants above; concentric radiating geometric bands and falcon-heads above; mounted in a glazed frame.

PROVENANCE:
From an important London collection, acquired in the 1970s.
