Footnotes
This fine quality piece does not seem to be listed against any of the known or catalogued chivalrous or presentation orders of the Pahlavi Dynasty; it also has no obvious signs of having any means of affixing to a backing or for suspension, yet the reverse of the piece shows distinct wear to the gilding, obviously arising from being in close contact with a surface over a considerable period of time; perhaps it was made up from older parts as a pattern or prototype that was never adopted.
