(Silver-gilt, 18.70 grams, 63.71 mm diameter.).
Circa 13th century AD. An exceptionally large example of an annular brooch, the hoop bearing eight equidistantly applied lozenges with alternating punched and gilded chequered and geometric designs and the pin with engraved collar and a loop retained in position by two of the lozenges.

Found near Barnard Castle, 2010. Disclaimed under Treasure Act (reference 2010 T462), with report and letter.
