Old Babylonian Erotic Clay Plaque
CIRCA 19TH-17TH CENTURY B.C.
2 7/8 in. ( 3 1/4 in.) (40 grams, 72 mm (73 grams total, 84 mm high including stand)).
A ceramic plaque fragment presenting an erotic scene composed of a man and a woman copulating a tergo, in raised relief; accompanied by a custom-made display stand.
Provenance
Acquired 1970-1999.
Property of a late Mayfair, London gentleman, by descent.
Accompanied by an old illustrated catalogue card.
