Norman Henry I - Salisbury / Sawulf - Pointing Bust and Stars Cut Halfpenny
Circa 1107 AD, BMC type vi. Obv: crowned bust three quarters right with sceptre and three stars in field with +HEN[RIC REX] legend. Rev: cross pattee over saltire with annulets at the end of each limb and star in angles with +SAP[ ]SAL legend for the moneyer Sawulf at Salisbury mint. 0.62 grams.
Extremely fine. The moneyer apparently unrecorded for Salisbury.

Found Stowmarket, Suffolk, 2008; recorded in Early Medieval Corpus, Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge.
