NEOLITHIC CERAMIC VINCA TRIPOD ALTAR
(Ceramic, 960 grams, 22 cm.).

Circa 6,000-5,000 BC. A ceramic figural altar with triangular base and three short legs, anthropomorphic idol figure extending from the centre with elliptical-section flat body, extended arms, triangular face and discoid breasts; elliptical slot to the front face of the altar.

PROVENANCE:
Ex Hermann Ginczler (1895-1965) collection, collected up to the early 1950's; part of the collection gifted to his niece, and thence by descent.
