Neo-Classical Marble Column
20TH CENTURY A.D.
47 1/2 in. (118 kg, 120.5 cm).
Carved in high-relief female figure with floral wreath to the brow, peplos robe draped from one shoulder, holding posies in each of her hands; lower body developing to a swept panel with lateral scroll detailing, palmettes to the obverse, rectangular block to the foot; after the antique.

The Cutty Sark was a clipper ship, a type of sailing ship designed for speed and efficiency. Muntz metal (or 'naval brass' or 'yellow metal') is a brass alloy of 60% copper and 40% zinc, with a trace of iron. It is named after George Fredrick Muntz, a metal-roller in Birmingham, England, who commercialized the alloy following his patent in 1832. -
