Near Eastern Assyrian Gold Winged Bull Mount

(Gold, 1.33 grams, 44 mm.).

Circa 15th-10th century BC. A repoussÃ© gold foil mount in the form of an advancing winged bull with curved horns, gaping mouth, elliptical ear, thick trunk, broad wing and curled tail; on the reverse a gold attachment loop.

Provenance

Pullen collection, Northern Ireland, UK; acquired in the 1960's.
