Acquired from Wayne Bonner in 1995.
From the private collection of Kenneth Machin (1936-2020), Buckinghamshire, UK; with collection no.NAI48 & 49; his collection of antiquities and natural history was formed since 1948; thence by descent.

    The Susquehannock Indians are now an extinct tribe, first mentioned by John Smith who explored the upper reaches of Chesapeake Bay in 1608. They were active in the fur trade and established close trading relationships with European settlers.
