MUGHAL POLISHED RUBY IN GOLD RING
17TH CENTURY AD
1 1/4" (15.53 grams, 33.77mm overall, 20.77mm internal diameter (approximate size British V 1/2, USA 10 3/4, Europe 24.40, Japan 23)).

A polished irregular ellipsoid ruby of vibrant rose colour, set in a later gold ring with open underside to the bezel mounted on openwork shoulders with crouching lionesses.

PROVENANCE:
From the family collection of a Hampstead gentleman; formerly acquired in the 1980s.
