15TH-16TH CENTURY A.D.
3/4 in. (4.29 grams, 21.21 mm overall, 18.58 mm internal diameter (approximate size British Q, USA 8, Europe 17.49, Japan 16)).
With D-section hoop, shoulders with quatrefoil motif, scaphoid bezel with hatched border, spiral scrolls and four granule turrets. [No Reserve]

Comprising different axe types and sizes, most with convex cutting edges. 4.65 kg total, 13-22 cm
Acquired 1990s-early 2000s. East Anglian private collection.
Some of these axes (type VIIa in the Glosek's classification) are a common type in Western Europe, widespread between 12th-15th century A.D. Mostly the specimens are 'carpenter's hatchets' that could also be used as offensive weapons if necessary. -

This amatory legend is found on other matrices, where the first word is more usually spelled FEI – a similar example is PAS database, SOM-D80124. An impression in the National Library of Wales is attached to a document dated c.1310.
