MEDIEVAL SILVER-GILT 'DIAMOND POINT' SPOON
HALLMARKED FOR 1574 AD
5 3/4" (28 grams, 15 cm).

A cast silver spoon with broad scoop bowl, piriform in profile with hexagonal-section shaft terminating in a 'diamond point' knop; traces of gilding to the shaft, 'crowned lion' mark in bowl for London assay; date letter gothic 'r' for 1574 and indistinct maker's mark below.
