7/8 in. (5.03 grams, 23.74 mm overall, 21.11 mm internal diameter (approximate size British W, USA 11, Europe 25, Japan 24)).
A copper-alloy ring composed of a hoop expanding at the shoulders to a large sub-circular bezel, engraved with an animated stylised figure with enigmatic symbols in the field, all within a roundel. [No Reserve]

An openwork lead pilgrim's badge displaying the wool-combe emblem of St Blaise of Canterbury within a pelletted roundel; complete with pin. 2.92 grams, 30 mm
Found on the Thames foreshore, London, UK. Acquired on the UK antiques market between 1974-1985. Albert Ward collection, Essex, UK.
St Blaise is believed to have been a bishop located somewhere in Asia Minor who was martyred in the early 4th century by beheading, following a period of torture with iron combs which later became his emblem. Canterbury, where his shrine stood behind the high altar and near to that of Saint Thomas Becket, claimed to have relics directly associated with Blaise, and miracles attributed to the saint continued to attract pilgrims into the 15th century. -

Large Flemish Medieval 'lieu en sce peueu et gherzte' Seal Matrix

A substantial bronze seal matrix with pierced tongue-shaped handle, incuse star close to the rim for alignment of the design; central heraldic heater shield with stylised wreath surrounding; design of a vertical bar with forked upper finial flanked by two cinquefoils; border with incuse edges and incuse 'lieu en sce peueu et gherzte' or similar slightly enigmatic inscription, possibly relating to a location in the Netherlands; with collector number '2563' on back of disc. 32.11 grams, 31 mm wide
