Medieval Knife with Bronze Pommel with Initials T.C.
CIRCA 1500 A.D.
7 3/8 in. (27.1 grams, 18.7 cm long).
A tanged knife with iron blade and single cutting edge, openwork bronze handle decorated with stylised foliate forms and X-motifs, lettering (possibly initials) to the hilt, possibly 'TC'.
Provenance
Acquired 1960s-1990s.

Accompanied by a copy of the UK Detector Finds Database record entry no.16201.
The seal relates to the payment of duty (custume) on imported cloth, and was presumably used by a customs official. -
Medieval Horse Harness Pendant Group

A mixed group of horse harness pendants comprising: a discoid pendant decorated with an eagle within beaded circles; an openwork lozengiform frame with four bulbous terminals, the upper one pierced with suspension loop above; a discoid pendant with stylised star motif, suspension loop above; large stylised rosette with domed centre, pierced with suspension loop above; fitting with a tapering body, semi-circular head and two roughly rectangular arms with scalloped edges, rivet hole to each, hook to head. 48.4 grams total, 26-56 mm
