Roughly circular in plan and displaying semi-naturalistic detailing in high relief.

FootnotesA number of similar objects are known from the PAS e.g: LVPL-844BB9, LIN-66994E, LVPL-F93881, YORYM-0E94A7 and KENT-AD3C5C. Many of these are fairly crudely made and variably worn, The smallest heads are probably horse harness, but this one, for weight and dimensions can be the mount for a wooden chariot or from a building, or some instrument linked to the firing activity.

One complete purse bar with linear ornament and swivel hoop; one purse bar arm with attachment lugs and inscription to both faces, part of: 'DEFVNTIS' '[LAVS DEO]'; possibly a version of 'Laus deo pax vivis requies defunctis', or 'Praise be to God, peace to the living and rest to the dead'; a carinated fragment inscribed 'ONOR' (the N retrograde), amidst flowering tendrils, part of the common inscription 'SOLI DEO HONOR ET GLORIA' [Honour and glory be to God only], from 1 Timothy, v.17. 63 grams total, 62-98 mm
