Medieval Gold Ring with Button Bezel
CIRCA 12TH-15TH CENTURY A.D.
3/4 in. (0.94 grams, 17.96 mm overall, 14.84 mm internal diameter (approximate size British H, USA 3 3/4, Europe 6.18, Japan 6)).
With a narrow, D-section hoop, applied knop-shaped bezel.

From a late Japanese specialist collector, 1970-2000s.

The early rowel spurs had short necks and small four-six or seven point star rowels, while four rowels were uncommon. After c.1350 the multipoint rowel became voguish though the former shapes continued. -
