NETHERLANDS, CIRCA 1470-1480 A.D.
6 1/4 in. (1530 grams, 16 cm high).
Hollow-formed with Virgin Mary holding the infant Jesus and a globe, border of triangular radiating flames, openwork crown. [No Reserve]

Late medieval and Renaissance horseshoes had an angular inner profile. These horse shoes were broadly C-shaped and rectangular in section.
