14TH-16TH CENTURY A.D.

1 7/8 in. (32 grams, 49 mm).

Formed as a standing horse with an arched neck, ring-and-dot eyes, curved legs, an opening to the chest and tail. [No Reserve]

From the private collection of a European gentleman (1942-2024), formed since the 1970s.

    The legend of King (later Saint) Edmund was celebrated in medieval England. The king refused to submit to the Danes, who tied him to a tree and shot him with arrows thus providing him with holy martyrdom.
