1542-1558 AD. First period, before marriage, billon 3/4 alloy issue. Obv: crowned thistle between M-R with MARIA D G REGINA SCOTORV legend. Rev: crown on St Andrew's cross with two cinquefoils and OPPIDVM EDINBVRGI legend for Edinburgh mint. 1.96 grams.
Very fine for issue, with good surfaces. Scarce thus.
