ROMAN MARBLE HEAD OF CUPID
1ST-2ND CENTURY AD
14 1/4" (15 kg, 36.5 cm including stand).

A large head of Cupid, his youthful face with rounded chin and chubby features, a slight smile to the parted lips, the deep-set almond-shaped eyes with heavy lids, his hair cascading in curls down either side of the head and swept up into a central top-knot; mounted on stand.

PROVENANCE:
London family collection before 1960.

CONDITION
