NEAR EASTERN LURISTAN HORSE BIT
(Bronze, 545 grams, 18 cm.).

Circa 8th century BC. A cast horse bit assemblage comprising a transverse bar with opposed scrolled ends joining two cheekplates in the form of advancing male goats with attachment rings above their heads and on their rumps.

PROVENANCE:
Property of a London Gentleman of Iranian decent, acquired in the 1960's.
