Life-Size Chinese Han Tomb Guardian Terracotta Dog

HAN DYNASTY, 206 B.C.-220 A.D. OR LATER

28 1/2 in. (15.75 kg, 72 cm (long)).

Hollow-formed in crouching pose with the rear legs folded beneath the body; thick tubular neck with lappet to each cheek, gaping mouth with protruding tongue, bulbous eyes in deep sockets, large pricked ears with central holes.

Provenance

Ex London gentleman, previously from Hong Kong collection.

This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by search certificate number no.13176-249395.
