Late Mughal Illuminated Quran Leaf
MID-19TH CENTURY A.D.
6 3/8 x 8 1/4 in. (3.77 grams, 16.2 x 21 cm).
Single-sided leaf from a Quran manuscript, the left panel with the last verses from Surah 1 ("Al-Fatiah" or "the Opening"), and the right register shows the first verses from Surah 2 ("Al-Baqrah", "the Heifer").
