Teardrop-shaped with narrow butt, rounded sides and deep curved edge; mottled surface.

Worked and unpolished on all surfaces and edges, trapezoidal in plan with rectangular cross-section and slightly convex broad sides, straight narrow sides; butt rounded and with reduced thickness; rounded cutting edge; grey to beige 'marbled' flint with inclusions. 2.1 kg, 32 cm

The unpolished so-called “flat” or “rectangular axe” was in widespread use in the 4th millennium B.C. in Southern Scandinavia and North Germany. -

Comprising mostly bifacial and uniface leaf-shaped flint and chert arrowheads; probably from the Sahara region of North Africa. 207 grams total, 28-46 mm

Similar specimens of arrowheads have been found in the Eastern Sahara Region of Abu Tartur Plateau. Most of the arrowheads came from the El Jarar Neolithic, c. 7700-7300 B.P. (c.6500-6100 B.C.). Other parallels occur in the region of Kharga Oasis. -
