Large Roman Terracotta Oil Lamp with 'Fallen Amazon' and Horse
CIRCA 1ST-2ND CENTURY A.D.
4 7/8 in. (115 grams, 12.3 cm).
Shallow oil lamp with narrow nozzle, the discus with a dynamic scene of an advancing horse moving to the right with a fallen Amazon hanging on to its bridle; inked collector's number '220' on the base.

Ex important German collection, 1960-1990.
