Large Danish Stone Age Neolithic Thin Butted Axe
DOLMAN PERIOD, 3700-3300 B.C.
8 in. (767 grams, 20.5 cm).
A deeply knapped and part polished axe with square sides and convex cutting edge, this edge with contemporary re-working by knapping, in grey chert; with old collector labels '186' and 'Danewerk lumb 2000' to faces.
Provenance
Acquired 1980s.
French private collection before 2020.
Property of a Sussex, UK, teacher.
