LARGE DANISH NEOLITHIC KNAPPED FLINT AXE
CIRCA 4TH MILLENNIUM B.C.
10 in. (1.3 kg total, 25.5 cm high including stand).

Finely bifacially knapped with convex cutting edge tapering with squared sides to slightly rounded butt showing evidence of use as a strike-a-light, patinated; accompanied by a custom-made display stand.

PROVENANCE:
Ex private New York collection, acquired 1970s-1980s.
with Arte Primitivo, 5 May 2017, lot 313.
