Large Chinese Tang Stone Figure
TANG DYNASTY, 618-907 A.D. OR LATER
42 in. (55 kg total, 106.5 cm including stand).
Standing erect wearing a loosely draped pleated garment with beaded swags over the forearms, segmented hairstyle held with a diadem, right arm raised in gesture of reassurance and left hand holding a phial; standing on a lotus-flower base; separate tiered base.
Provenance
Acquired from the London art market in the 2000s.
