L. Calpurnius Piso Frugi AR Denarius. 90 BC. Rome mint.

Laureate head of Apollo to right; head of antelope behind, three pellets beneath chin / Horseman galloping to right, carrying palm over shoulder and holding reins; L PISO FRVGI and stick below, X above. Crawford 340/1; BMCRR -; Sydenham 669g; RSC Calpurnia 11. Near Extremely Fine. A sharply struck denarius with Apollo's portrait in high relief and finely detailed reverse. Nice old cabinet toning with hints of golden iridescence.(3.81gr, 18mm, 2h.).
