Kingdom of Macedon, Time of Alexander III to Philip III AR Tetradrachm. Circa 324/3-320 BC. Arados mint. Struck under Menes or Laomedon in the name and types of Alexander III.
Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied beneath chin / ΒΑΣIΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus seated to left on high-backed throne, right leg drawn back, holding long sceptre in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing to right with closed wings; Σ in left field, monogram of AP (civic) beneath throne. Price 3316; Duyrat Group IV, Series 4. Extremely Fine. A well-centred example struck on a large flan.(17.01gr, 29mm, 8h.).
