Kingdom of Macedon, Alexander III AR Tetradrachm. Struck under Menes or Philotas, circa 327-323 BC. Tarsos mint.
Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied beneath chin / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus seated to left on backless throne, legs spread, holding long sceptre in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing to right with closed wings; plow in left field, pellet beneath left arm. Price 3016; Newell, Tarsos 25. Very Fine.(17.18gr, 25mm, 7h.).
