Ireland. Plantagenet, Edward I AR Penny. Struck 1297-1302. Dublin mint. Second ('ЄDW') coinage, class IVa.

ЄDW R' ANGL' D-NS ҺУb, crowned facing bust; single pellet below; all within triangle / CIVI-TAS DVBL-INIЄ, long cross pattée; trefoil of pellets in quarters, extra pellet in first quarter. SCBC 6264 var. (not additional pellet). Fine. Apparently a unique variant with an extra pellet at the reverse, not mentioned by either Spink or PAS.(1.34gr, 19mm, 8h.).

Found Bottisham, East Cambridgeshire, UK.
Accompanied by a copy of the British Museum's Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS) report no.SF-B17681.
