Indus Valley Mother Goddess Seated
CIRCA 3000-2500 B.C.
4 5/8 in. (42 grams, 11.8 cm high).
A ceramic fertility figure modelled in a seated position, arms and legs outstretched before her nude body, stylised anatomical and facial features portraying a female figure with large head, dressed hair beneath a head covering, large nose and recessed circular eyes, broad ornamental collar above ample breasts, hour-glass waist, incised fingers and toes.
