Group comprising: mixed cut halfpenny and farthings of short cross and long voided cross reverse types, including those of Henry II, John and Henry III. 'As Found' Condition.(11.27gr total.). [20]

    During this turbulent period in English history many irregular coins were struck and coins were also issued from dies that had been deliberately defaced, possibly as a rejection of Stephen's authority (note from PAS).
