Astyra was a small town of Mysia, in the plain of Thebes, between Antandros and Adramyteion. It had a temple of Artemis, of which the Antandrii had the superintendence, and Artemis had hence the name of ΑΡΤΕΜΙΣ ΑΣΤΥΡΗΝΗ (Artemis Astyrene), as it appears on our coin.
