Greek Core-Formed Glass Oinochoe

6TH-5TH CENTURY B.C.

2 3/8 in. (28.2 grams, 60 mm).

With trefoil mouth, applied D-section handle and carinated foot, applied decorative trails and polychrome geometric bands to the upper body, lip and foot.

Provenance

Francesc Cambó i Batlle (1876-1947) a prominent Spanish politician, art patron and philanthropist.
Gifted to his friend, the archaeologist, Josep Gilbert i Buch.
Acquired from Gilbert's family by the present owner's grandfather in the early 1980s.
Private collection of a European noble.
