(Ceramic, 310 grams, 20 cm.).
Circa 4th century BC. A ceramic epichysis of Magna Graecian (Apulian) workmanship with spool base, tall neck and elegant D-section handle; to the lower vertical face an ivyleaf motif in red and white; to the upper face between volute motifs a reclining winged figure with a mirror in the left hand, strings of beads to the neck and chest, earrings and diadem; the figure naked with small breasts and male genitalia.
PROVENANCE:
From the estate of a deceased North Country collector, acquired over a 30 year period from the early 1970's; ex Ancient Art, London.
