GREEK BRONZE ILLYRIAN HELMET
CIRCA 6TH CENTURY BC
10 1/2" (837 grams, 27 cm).

A sheet-bronze Illyrian-style helmet with two parallel ribs to the bowl, rectangular facial aperture, narrow flange to the rear; a series of punched annulets to the border of the aperture and cheek-plates; small hole to the brow.

PROVENANCE:
Ex Hermann-Historica, Munich; formerly in an old German collection.
