(Ceramic, 370 grams, 28 cm.).
Circa 5th century BC. A ceramic oinochoe of Magna Graecian (Apulian) workmanship with small pedestal foot, mastoid body, tall neck and ribbed handle; to the neck white vertical strokes, to the shoulder a running scroll, to the body three palmette motifs with the bust of a lady of fashion with necklace, earrings and elaborate headwear.
PROVENANCE:
From the estate of a deceased North Country collector, acquired over a 30 year period from the early 1970's; ex C J Martin Ltd.
