ROMAN GOLD, PEARL AND CRYSTAL EARRING
2ND-1ST CENTURY BC
1 3/4" (2.90 grams, 46 mm).

An exceptionally high quality Type I earring with wire hoop, two wire pendant arms with pearl seed beads and stone spacers connected to a filigree sphere, collar and openwork setting for a crystal pendant.

PROVENANCE:
Part of a collection acquired around 1900; and thence by decent 1940s.
