POST MEDIEVAL GOLD OPENWORK BETROTHAL KEY RING
18TH-19TH CENTURY AD
3/4" (7.67 grams, 22 mm overall, 18.46 mm internal diameter (approximate size British Q, USA 8 1/4, Europe 18.0, Japan 17)).

An openwork hoop of volute scrolls, saltire to the upper face with similar openwork triangular key-ward.

PROVENANCE:
Property of a London collector, acquired before 1980.

FOOTNOTES:
The ring is a symbolic key with the implication that it is the key to the heart of the donor.
