1" (29 grams, 27mm overall, 21.89mm internal diameter (approximate size British Z, USA 12 1/2, Europe 28.77, Japan 27)).
A substantial gold finger ring with D-section hoop and facetted bezel; the underside with faux barley twist detailing, the shoulders with niello-inlaid curlicues and blackletter text 'Deus meus mecum est' translating to My God is with me', and facetted plaque with niello-inlaid image of Christ on the cross surmounted by a nimbate face, flanked by nimbate figures; blackletter text to the inner face '.Dominus.regit.me / et.nichil.michl.deerit' which translates to 'The Lord guides me and nothing shall I lack'.
PROVENANCE:
Property of a lady; formerly from an important family collection formed in Munster, Germany during the 1950s; thence by descent. Accompanied by X-Ray Fluorescence metal analysis certificate 00898-2017MR.
