MEDIEVAL GOLD CASTLELAN'S SIGNET RING
14TH-15TH CENTURY AD
1" (16 grams, 22mm overall, 18.86mm internal diameter (approximate size British R, USA 8 3/4, Europe 19.0, Japan 18)).

A gusseted gold hoop with with median band of foliage, discoid bezel with intaglio design of a castle gate tower with chain links surrounding, crescent moon and sun above, key below and blackletter 'caritas' (virtue) legend.

PROVENANCE:
Property of a German gentleman; acquired before 2000. Supplied with a positive X-Ray Fluorescence metal analysis certificate.

PUBLISHED:
Accompanied by an Art Loss Register certificate.

FOOTNOTES:
