CHINESE GLAZED CERAMIC HORSE AND GROOM FIGURINE GROUP
TANG DYNASTY, 618-906 AD
10 1/4 - 13" (3.9 kg total, 26-33 cm).

A ceramic figurine group comprising: a standing horse on a rectangular base, the neck arched and head tilted, saddle and saddlecloth modelled to the back; a standing groom on a rectangular base with left arm raised, riding coat open to the waist; horse and groom finely modelled with restrained use of coral-pink, turquoise and black pigment; accompanied by a detailed thermoluminescence report issued by Laboratory Ralf Kotalla Gmbh, Haigerloch, Germany. [2]

From an old Spanish collection; acquired before 1990.
