VIKING GILT-BRONZE STIRRUP MOUNT WITH STYLISED DRAGONS
10TH-12TH CENTURY AD
1 3/4" (17 grams, 44mm).

A cast openwork stirrup mount (?) with palmette outline, opposed beasts within the ornament; punched pellet texturing and pierced in several places for attachment; flat reverse.

PROVENANCE:
Property of a German collector; acquired in the 1990s.
